Melodic DeathMetal from Germany (Bavaria / Kemnath)

The name Deception Path has been inspired by two ancient Indian legends called
"The Maiden of Deception Pass" and "The Legend of Spirit Lake".
Musically we're mainly influenced by Scandinavian DeathMetal (both, new and old-school) acts like Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquillity and old In Flames,
so e.g. even by bands like early Amorphis, Unleashed or Grave.
As it seems we've already found our own little sound resp. style-corner.

Deception Path was founded in summer 2002.
Tom (Ex - Homelesz) (guitar) and Andi (vocals/lyrics) were trying to form a band since years, but all starts ended without success. Even after this time luck still wasn't with them... after only a half already 3 guys were thrown out. But there would be a better year to come...
In 2003, Andy (Ex - Suxxess) took place behind the drums. Shortly after that, we noticed that we would need a second guitar-player. Through the fact that Andy has been even playing guitar since some time and wanted to increase his abilities, he changed to the second guitar. So we had to find a drummer, again. That wasn't that hard, because of the good connections to the local "scene". So Fabian (Ex - Lilith's Stream) found a new drumming-home.
Some weeks later with Migh (Ex - Iactura Animorum) now even a Bass-player was integrated.

In summer 2003 we finished our first song "Eroding Scarlet".
Already some weeks later even "Across the Rivers..." was finished.
After this moment the songwriting-process became faster and faster...
Our first goal was to record a MCD (leaving out a demo), but since the progress of writing new material went better than we thougt, we're currently working hard on titles for a complete album. We hope we'll be able to present this self-titled full-length disc until the autumn / winter of 2004.

Let's see what future brings... maybe even the one or other little live-gig.
